My Mother’s Words - While most people cherish their mother and up-bring, for fourteen years I grew up with an abusive and unstable mother that resented my very existence. I wrote My Mother's Words to inspire and motivate those who think that negative circumstances predict their future. I’m here to tell you that you’re absolutely wrong. When you’re given lemons it is now a time to make the lemonade and I just spiked mine up a couple of levels. My book takes you on a journey through the life of a young black woman whose mother’s words were not inspirational but demoralizing and disheartening. However, I used my mother's unnerving words to fuel my thirst for success to become a successful entrepreneur and more importantly a GOOD person. This book outlines my pains, sorrows, setbacks, joys, accomplishments, and triumph.

The last words I ever heard from my mother at the age of fourteen was” You won’t amount to shit.” During that time, I had already been sexually molested, mentally and physically abused. I was court ordered to now moved with my father, who I had no memory or recollection of knowing. I thought that was the worst moment of my young teen life. Well, the worst moment of my life turned out to be my BIGGEST BLESSING!. I wrote My Mother's Words to inspire and motivate those who think that negative circumstances or situations will be your predictor of how your life will turn out and for those who uses negativity as an excuse for why you are not further ahead. I encourage you to READ this book. This book outlines my pain, sorrow, setbacks, joy, accomplishments, and triumph. My story is still being shaped and I pray that these experiences will continue to make my journey fruitful and motivating. My main goal of this book is to show the reader the most negative words and actions can be your most positive motivator to succeed in life and business. I hope that this reading is an inspiration to thrive through the pain and negativity and to always see the glass half full.

Exceptional Serial Entrepreneur, Motivational Corporate Speaker, Homeland Security Strategist, and Compelling Author, Twyla N. Garrett, is a native of Ohio but currently reside between Washington, DC and Raleigh, North Carolina where she manages her multi-successful businesses. Known for her notable (oftentimes 100% self-funded) business deals, Twyla also strives in providing excellent opportunities for individuals faced with immerse personal and social challenges especially related to abuse.
With her ability to speak on delicate, and motivational topics, Twyla has been personally invited to The White House to speak on issues relating to creating jobs, economic growth, and the controversial fiscal cliff od 2012. Twyla is as well, passionate about helping individuals become meaningful persons in live, she writes book on how young and emerging entrepreneurs can scale their businesses so they are big enough to create sustainable employment to those living within their communities. Her new book My Mother’s Words, is a motivational book on how individuals can turn their worst experiences into their greatest triumphs. Twyla enjoys spending time with her family and friends, solving and tackling human trafficking related issues, motivational speaking, voluntary services, writing, as well as traveling.
